Syracuse Basement Waterproofing Pros — Foundation Waterproofing
Exterior and Interior Foundation Protection Built for Central New York Winters
With nearly 128 inches of snow each year, a January average low of 16.5 °F, and close to 40 inches of annual rainfall, Syracuse foundations face relentless freeze-thaw cycles and seasonal moisture pressure. Add the fact that 72% of local housing units were built before 1980 — with a median year built of 1963 — and the case for professional foundation waterproofing becomes clear. Syracuse Basement Waterproofing Pros uses proven exterior and interior methods to protect your foundation from water intrusion, crack propagation, and long-term structural damage.
Our crew excavates down to the footer to fully expose the foundation wall. The wall surface is then cleaned and dried to ensure proper adhesion before any waterproofing material is applied.
We apply a liquid-applied waterproofing membrane or rubberized coating directly to the exterior wall face, creating a continuous barrier against water penetration through the full wall thickness.
A dimple-mat drainage board is installed over the membrane to direct water away from the wall and toward a footing drain. The excavation is then backfilled with gravel to promote drainage and reduce hydrostatic pressure.
Where cracks are present, we drill entry ports along the crack at measured intervals and inject epoxy or polyurethane resin under low pressure. Injection continues until material appears at the next port, confirming the void is filled through the full wall thickness. Each port is then capped.
At the interior cove joint — a common water entry point — deteriorated concrete is chipped out and packed with hydraulic cement. After curing, a cementitious or acrylic elastomeric coating is applied to the block or poured wall face for an added layer of interior protection.
To manage any water that reaches the interior, we excavate a pit to the correct depth below the drain tile, set a perforated liner, and seat a submersible sump pump. A check valve is installed on the discharge line, and discharge is routed well away from the foundation. Sump pump installation is priced from $490 to $2,500 depending on project scope.
